Sinopsis:

Synopsis:

‘Liku-Liku’ is an art exhibition featuring artworks of two painters-Nicholas Choong and Muhammad Hafiz Azizi. Both are very talented in producing their work with different technique and manner of presentation in translating the meaning of ‘Liku-Liku’. Nevertheless, it is quite apparent of their similarity in terms of their appreciation using subjects that revolves around the city, the city’s livelihood and the environment of our everyday lives.

For Hafiz Azizi, a graduate of Universiti Teknologi Mara, Seri Iskandar Perak, this is his second-two man show. His first was in 2015, partnering with Ng Kok Leong at Pelita Hati’s gallery in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. Azizi’s initial work revolves around the congestion of the metropolitan city. In 2018, he continues with his oil paint work, still about life in the city but his focus is more towards one’s struggles as well as a person’s continuation of living amidst the bustling skyscrapers.

Nicholas Choong is a versatile artist and at the beginning of his involvement in the art of painting, his works involves a lot of watercolor and sketches. Over the years he begins to tinker with oil paints and acrylics as his mainstream media in producing artworks. His recent oil and acrylic paint artworks is particularly impressive featuring Kuala Lumpur city scenarios-a variant of colors representing modern buildings highlighting the dynamic development environment of the city.

The pairing of these two artists seems to be a very compatible combination. Although there are differences in terms of producing the work, the similarities in their appreciation of the subjects in their works are quiet bountiful and impressive. Their work shows a strong commitment towards producing high-quality artworks. Muhammad Hafiz Azizi and Nicholas Choong are two new potential artists carving their names to be great artists among those well known Malaysian artists.
